Introduction

This post introduces a new feature for the Founder section; Financial models. Most of the financial models will become exclusive features for Founders. This kick-off with Yum China is open to all Paying subscribers. I intend to use this financial model template for other companies going forward. I also intend to publish other types of financial analyses to provide better insights in specific companies.

User manual

Turn on iterations1 in Excel before you open the financial model. Instructions how to do this are in the footnote.

When you open the financial model, it will open in <Driver model>. In this sheet you can insert your assumptions for key value drivers to predict future Revenue, Profitability, Capital expenditures (Capex), et cetera, depending on the specific company. These predictions apply for the first three years. The model is a two-stage sales growth model. You can make explicit predictions for the first “high-growth” stage of three years in <Driver model>.
